Registration will consist of:
1. Program registration through the YMCA
2. 2012 USA Swimming Registration Form (Fillable PDF) and the $55 fee.
3. Payment of the FM Gators fundraising fee of $35/session (Fundraising fee may also be paid annually for $75.)

1. How Does My Child Become A Gator?
A. If your swimmer has not been a part of a competitive swim team and is under the age of 10, he or she will need to enroll in the Insta-Gators program at the YMCA. Insta-Gators is a 5 week program taught by Gator coaches that will prepare your swimmer for the Gator swim team.
B. If your swimmer is over10 years old or has been a part of a competitive swim team you should contact head coach Talia Butery on how to get your swimmer registered at 701.364.4151 or email.
2. What Is The Cost?
The Gators run for three, 3 month sessions throughout the year: Short Course Session I, October-December Short Course Session II, January-March Long Course Session, May-July
The cost for each level is below. The Gator coaches will determine which group your swimmer will fit in the best. Developmental & Pre-Age Group:
$145.00/Y Members or $155.00/Non-Members for a 3 months session Age Group I & Age Group II:
$155.00/Y Member or $170.00/Non-Member for a 3 month session Senior I & Senior II:
$165.00/Y Member or $185.00/Non-Member for a 3 month session
*Swimmers must also pay a $55.00 USA Swimming fee. Every swimmer on every team in the United State must pay this fee on a yearly basis. Your swimmer will be able to setup an account on the USA swimming website to track his/her competitive progress, receive the SPLASH magazine and it is an insurance policy so if your athlete is hurt at practice or a meet they are covered by USA Swimming.
**There is a Fundraising Fee of $35.00 per session per family or $75.00 per year per family. You can either choose to pay this fee, sell an ad for the program for one of the Gator home meets or sign up to participate in one of the other fundraising opportunities throughout the year.
The YMCA of Cass & Clay Counties offers program scholarships as well. Please contact head coach Talia Butery if you would like more information on scholarships.
3. How Much Will My Swimmer Need To Practice?
Each group has 5 practices offered a week and a different number of practices that they should attend… Developmental & Pre-Age Group Swimmers- 2-3 practices a week, no more than 3 Age Group I & II Swimmers-3 to 5 practices a week Senior I & Senior II Swimmers- 4 to 5 practices a week
We know your kids are busy, so we try to be as flexible as possible. Your swimmer is not required to attend a certain amount of practices each week, but we encourage all of our swimmers to practice as much as their schedule allows. Parents are welcome to stay and watch practice, but are not allowed at any time during the course of practice per USA swimming rules.
4. What About Competition?
Meets are completely optional. We do encourage everyone to participate in the meets though. Our meet schedule offers a variety of in town meets, inter-squad meets and meets you can travel to. The FM Gator coaching staff would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about your swimmer and when they will be ready for their first competition!
* There is an additional fee for the meets. The cost varies by the team hosting the meet. You can find this information in the intent form packet.
5. How Do I Register My Child For Gators?

6. What Will My Swimmer Need For Practice ?
Your swimmer will need a suit, cap, goggles, deck shoes (flip-flops) and a towel. There are locker rooms at each practice facility that will be available for the swimmers. Any suit is fine for practice! You can purchase a cap and goggles at Scheels or you can go on to one of the following websites to get a better deal!
