Coaching Experience Highlights: I have had some many amazing experiences coaching, but so hard to narrow it down to one. The best thing I love about coaching is seeing the athlete’s face after they swim an amazing race! It’s so great to see their joy and happiness after all the hard work and dedication they have put into the season.
When I first got involved in swimming:
I first got involved in swimming in 4th grade. I actually started swimming mainly because my older sister did and I thought she was cool. Once I got into I started to become good at it and began to love it!
Signature piece of swimming gear:
I sometimes can be superstitious especially when I competed. I am not sure if this counts for swimming gear, but I always left the tag showing from my swim suit. Most girls would cut their off, but I kept mine attached. It was sort of a good luck charm.
Favorite stroke/event: I was sprinter, but more of an event that is like a love-hate relationship. I loved it because it was quick and I didn’t have endurance, but was a huge pain when you make a tiny mistake which totally ruins the race!
Advice for new swimmers thinking about joining the Gators: The best advice I will give any future swimmer is to not give up! I know that there is some days where your arms feel like jello, but you must do your best to keep going. You will appreciate all the hard work you put into practice once you get that lifetime best time!
